Coney Island’s Mermaid Parade goes to the dogs!

I’ve been slacking on updating the blog. Life just got in the way, selling houses, moving back to NY, sick pets, new pets, old pets………who knew life could get so busy?!

However, I did manage to do something fun for once and wanted to post a couple of pics.

Coney Island’s Annual Mermaid Parade is always a great event. Creatures come from far away lands just to have a good time and show off their creativity.

This year I decided to attend the parade at the last minute, so I only had two days to throw together some outfits for the pups. I did a bit of cheating and altered a sailor costume I bought on sale last year for Eli and Mimi wore a custom-made bikini by none other than the multi-talented pet fashion designer, Ada Nieves. I added on some fairy wings because a beautiful beach babe just wasn’t cool enough for Coney Island!

The pups were chauffeured on their stroller with custom-made platform and they stayed cool with an icy cooling mat and chilled water. Eli was a good sport and kept his sunglasses and sailor hat on the entire time!
